醫療美容日漸普及，但接連發生的事故，引起社會對監管這個行業漏洞的關注。2012年底，DR美容集團「毒血針」事故，導致一死三危殆，政府其後成立私營醫療機構規管檢討督導委員會；但就未有就事件提出檢控。目前，社會上未有任何醫學美容規管措施具法律效力保障消費者。立法會議員及醫學界均希望政府可以盡快立例，清晰界定醫學與美容的分別，以及加強規管，以釐清現時的灰色地帶，但美容業界則表明反對。 (醫學美容 監管 肉毒桿菌注射 整形手術 註冊醫生 無牌行醫)
