Models and Tactics Taught in Community Organization Courses: Findings from a Survey of Practice Instructors [electronic resource] / Donna Hardina PhD. - pp. 5-18.

Little has been published about instructional methods for teaching community organization practice. The author reports data collected from a survey of ACOSA members who teach community practice courses. Respondents were most likely to report that social action was the model of practice discussed in class. Greater than one-third of the respondents expressed a personal preference for this model. Strategies taught in the classroom included collaboration, campaign, and confrontation. Respondents were most likely to express a personal preference for collaboration and least likely to prefer confrontation.
