Conditions are ripe for a reunion between organized labor and progressive social activists. Nonetheless, experiments in labor-community coalitions offer few examples of lasting collaborations. We report on a pilot project that uses critical pedagogy to create ongoing, region-based labor-community coalitions. We discuss context, theory, process, and outcomes in order to offer a model for replication.
